Sharps Custom Auto has been part of Tucson’s automotive fabric for over 32 years. The shop was originally founded as a dedicated transmission specialist, building a reputation so strong that when it came up for sale, Ryan and his partner didn’t hesitate.
That was six years ago. Ryan had already been working at the shop for 22 years. Between him and lead tech David, the team brings nearly 70 years of hands-on automotive experience — and they’re still here, still solving problems that have sent other shops scratching their heads.

The original owner ran Sharps for 32–33 years as Tucson's go-to transmission shop, building a reputation that outlasted any advertising.
Ryan Joins the Team
Ryan started at Sharps and spent nearly three decades learning the shop inside and out — including the customers, the culture, and the craft.
New Ownership, Same Name
When the shop went up for sale, Ryan and his partner bought it within two months. They kept the Sharps name — because the reputation it carried was too valuable to walk away from.

Today about two-thirds of the work is general repair and maintenance, with a strong focus on bringing transmission rebuilds back to the forefront. Because that's what Sharps does best.
